Mastering pretty much is sort of a technique used to make your music sound clear and more loud although it doesn't sound distorting, you know basically it's a way to balance your sound so you don't have all the fluctuations in the frequencies.Mastering evens out the fluctuations, alterations and all stuff like that. You can either render your original flp file into a wav file and bring the file to a new project according to other people's opinion who claim they have created some high quality sounds but others disagree with that and argue about that, you know its better to master your work in the original file with all your other sounds in the mixer, and that is up to you.I prefer mastering my work in th original file with all my sounds in the mixer because it allows you to apply certain effects in certain sounds which i think is impossible to do when mastering your wav file.
